Auguste Clape – Cornas 2016 is a great, classically vinified Syrah from one of the most legendary domaines in the northern Rhône. The vines grow on steep, granite-rich terraces in the best locations in Cornas. The style: uncompromisingly traditional – hand-harvested, spontaneous fermentation, long aging in old foudres, no fining or filtration.

The 2016 vintage is particularly balanced and precise: dark forest fruits, black pepper, herbs, olives, violets, and smoky stone on the nose. On the palate, the wine is dense and structured, with cool freshness, firm tannins, and impressive depth. A Cornas with great balance, energy, and classic aging potential.

Ideal for lovers of purist, long-lasting Rhône wines with provenance and excitement. Drinkable now with aeration, ideal until at least 2040+.
