JG Benda – Rosso di Montalcino 2022 is a single-varietal Sangiovese from high-altitude, wooded plots in the Brunello zone. Winemaker John Benda , originally a career changer from London, spent two years learning under Alessandro Mori (Il Marroneto) , one of Montalcino's leading names. This experience shapes his uncompromising, terroir-focused style: biodynamic farming, low yields, spontaneous fermentation, and aging in large, traditional vats, unfiltered, and minimally sulfurized.

On the nose, the wine displays bright aromas of ripe red cherries, pomegranate, and violets, complemented by delicate notes of Mediterranean herbs and spices. On the palate, it is lively, juicy, and clear, supported by elegant fruit, silky tannins, and a saline minerality. The 2022 vintage brings openness and freshness, making the wine very approachable even at a young age.
