Simon Colin — Burgundy Chardonnay 2023

€50

A Bourgogne Blanc with the precision and tension of a wine of a significantly higher classification.

From several parcels around Chassagne-Montrachet comes a Chardonnay of exceptional clarity and energy. Yellow plum, nectarine, and ripe apple combine with white blossoms, citrus zest, and a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut.

On the palate, the wine is smooth and concentrated, yet lively and precise. Mineral tension, delicate salinity, and a fine ginger spice give contour to the silky texture, leading into a long, energetic finish.

The careful aging in French oak gives the wine additional depth without masking its freshness or purity. The result, even at a regional level, unmistakably bears Simon Colin's clear, focused signature.

With a little air, it is already exceptionally approachable today, yet with enough structure for elegant development into the early 2030s.

A Bourgogne Chardonnay that effortlessly surpasses its classification – precise, expressive, and full of drive.
